JUMPING RASCALS – ADVERSE WEATHER PROCEDURES
JUMPING RASCALS monitor the weather leading up to events one week out, 3 days out and then the evening before.
WET OR SEVERE WEATHER
- In the event that weather conditions are forecast as potentially severe, JUMPING RASCALS will cancel the hire.
- Once JUMPING RASCALS have arrived on-site, inflatables will only be erected if the installer deems it safe in regard to severe wind, heavy rain, or extreme hot weather (dangerous weather).
WET WEATHER
RAINFALL: IF OUR CLIENTS EXPERIENCE ANY WET WEATHER DURING THE COURSE OF THEIR HIRE, WE ASK THAT THEY:
- Remove patrons from the Inflatable
- Turn Inflatables off
- Disconnect the Power Supply
- Cover the Blowers, Extension Leads with our Safety Mats or remove these items and place them in an undercover area
JUMPING RASCALS will monitor the day, and if any weather changes occur, we will contact our hirers and advise them to do the above.
LIGHTNING: IF THERE IS ANY LIGHTNING ABOUT
- Immediately remove patrons from the Inflatable
- Turn Inflatables off
- Disconnect the Power Supply
- Cover the Blowers, Extension Leads with our Safety Mats
JUMPING RASCALS will monitor the day and if any lightning is seen or forecast we will contact clients to do the above
WIND
WIND IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS ISSUE FOR INFLATABLES. OUR WIND POLICY IS SET IN STONE. IF WIND SPEEDS EXCEED 30KPH, THE INFLATABLE MUST BE SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY BY THE DESIGNATED SUPERVISOR OVER THE AGE OF 18 YEARS.
JUMPING RASCALS WILL ALWAYS MONITOR THE WIND SPEED LEADING UP TO THE CLIENT’S HIRE AND DURING THE CLIENT’S HIRE.
JUMPING RASCALS AND STAFF ARE IN CONSTANT COMMUNICATION WITH CLIENTS IF THERE ARE ANY CHANGES TO THE WIND SPEED AND WILL ADVISE CLIENTS TO SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY.
The following procedures are to be followed when winds reach 30kph:
- Evacuate Inflatables immediately
- Turn off Blowers, disconnect power supply.
- Open zippers to help the Inflatable deflate quicker.
- Before re-entering the Inflatable, clients are asked to please check out the following website to see what the wind speeds for your area are and if the wind speeds will stay below the required Safety Limit
WILLY WEATHER LINK: https://wind.willyweather.com.au
Once wind speeds have dropped back below the acceptable limits:
- 1st check that all Pegs and tie-down Points are connected and have not been damaged or loosened.
- Then the Inflatable can be re-connected
- Once fully inflated, check to make sure that there is no debris (leaves, branches, other objects) in or around the Inflatable that could be a potential Hazard
- Also, again, check that all tie-down points are still secure.
A FEW THINGS TO BE MINDFUL OF REGARDING WIND SPEEDS:
- Our Inflatables are designed to withstand Wind Speeds of up to 38kph
- Our Policy stipulates that the Inflatable must be shut down once Wind Speeds have reached 30kph; do not wait until it has reached 38kph
- 30kph Wind Speeds most likely mean that the Wind Gusts are closer to 40kph
- There is an extremely limited opportunity to do anything once an Inflatable has let go, so the Inflatable must be shut off before wind speeds become an issue.
- If an Inflatable has let go, we ask that you immediately call us.
- An insecure Inflatable must not be used until we have arrived on site and given such permission.
LOCATION ISSUES
If we arrive at the destination and there are issues with the location that we are needing to setup, JUMPING RASCALS reserves the right to leave the premises without installing. Reasons for this situation occurring include but are not limited to:
- Uneven Surface
- The ground is too hard or too soft for the Inflatable to be Safely Secured due to adverse weather conditions
- High wind area
JUMPING RASCALS AND STAFF ARE IN CONSTANT COMMUNICATION WITH OUR CLIENTS FOR BACKYARD PARTIES. IF THE WEATHER CHANGES, ADVISE THEM TO SHUT DOWN.
IN REGARDS TO CORPORATE EVENTS AND EVENTS IN PUBLIC SPACES, ONE OF OUR FULLY TRAINED STAFF MEMBERS WILL ALWAYS BE ON SITE AND WILL ADHERE TO THE ABOVE PROCEDURES.
